On our second to last evening together, my LT and I were able to sneak in one last Starbucks date, and he surprised me with this beautiful necklace (and, naturally, some chocolate) while we were there. ONE DAY CLOSER…three words that refocus my mind onto the day at hand and make a long absence bearable. Each night I go to bed is one less lonely evening to endure; each morning I wake up, one less night of an empty bed. Now, after thirty-one days, I can finally say we are one MONTH closer! That does something for the mind, and I just know it calls for a little chocolate celebration!
To all who have helped us through this first month – family, friends, neighbors, co-workers – THANK YOU! You’ve made each day easier and a little less lonely; and as we close in on the six-week mark, you’ve helped to make the specter of deployment a bit less daunting, though the reality of it remains unfathomable.
